There is nothing that I love more than exploring the rainforest in South America. I've done it in several different countries, and it is never a letdown for the adventurous. I've chased caiman, caught piranhas, slept in hammocks and tripped over anacondas. Those were some of the happiest moments in my life. Most people, though, are probably looking for something a little... milder. If you want to explore the Amazon rainforest with more comfort (while not missing out on nature), then a river cruise in Ecuador is probably exactly what you're looking for.
Quito is the capital of Ecuador, and it's a massive city with roughly two and a half million people. It has a large international airport, and more than likely this is where you'll enter the country. So is it worth it to spend a few days in Quito before heading out to explore the rest of the country? Yes! Aside from being a major hub of activity, this large city is packed with beautiful parks and other attractions. It's historical district was the first (along with Kraków, Poland) to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1978). There are tons of really outstanding monuments, buildings and sculptures that display rich culture and history.
You're planning a trip to the Galapagos and you don't want to be the one that has to do the "unpack of shame" at the airport. How do you pack light and make sure your clothes match the weather? Read on, though, for detailed and specific information on exactly the kind of clothing that will let you pack light and be as comfortable as possible in the Galapagos Islands!
When most people from North America think of South America, they think of hot, balmy weather. And, for the most part, this is true! South America is home to the Amazon, some genuinely amazing beaches, and even some hot, arid savannas. But what can you expect in Machu Picchu, Peru? It's located in the Andean mountain range, where the weather is notoriously brisk! Actually, Machu Picchu is located in an area where weather can be hard to predict - at around 8,000 feet above sea level, it's between the steamy Amazon and the chilly city of Cusco. Some say that within a single day, you can get all four seasons - complete with cold rain, warm sunshine, chilly wind, and even snow!
When some people think of the equator, they think of the Amazon Rainforest, with spiders the size of your hand and mosquitoes more vicious than an African lion. It's a reasonable question to ask. What about bugs in the Galapagos? Most people find that biting insects in the Galapagos are actually pretty minimal, and that some natural bug repellent works very well to avoid any bites. Of course, bugs come and go with the seasons, so read on for some pro tips to avoid itchiness in an environmentally friendly way!
When the Cuyabeno Reserve was initially proposed as a traveling option, it brought up a long lingering question, why do people find the jungle so appealing? It just did not sound like all that much fun. Humidity, strange animal cries in the middle of the night, mosquitoes, and poisonous snakes ? Nope. Nope. Nope. Also, nothing positive ever happened to Indiana Jones in the jungle, and even Mowgli bailed! And he was raised by a Bear!
A visit to the Galapagos is in sight? looking to prepare for your upcoming trip? chances are you're the researching type ?, you've come to the right place! Here's the deal: I think we can all agree everyone has rules, why? Without going into the wee details, here is how the Galapagos park came to be and how following these simple rules can help the park's conservation efforts.

Alright, so where do i take a cab? better yet, let me get an uber Sorry folks, no uber here, what about a cab? that wont work either… at least not directly. So how do you exactly reach the nearest town? (Puerto Ayora).
