You might also encounter more insects and mosquitoes during this period.
  • The wet season in the Ecuadorian Amazon runs from April to November, and it is characterized by more rainfall, higher water levels, and more cloudy days. This is a good time to visit Napo Wildlife Center if you want to enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and fishing on the rivers and lakes, spotting wildlife on water, and visiting the parrot and parakeet clay licks. However^, keep in mind that the wet season is also the rainiest and most unpredictable time of the year, with rainfall averaging 250 mm (10 inches) per month and thunderstorms occurring frequently.

The Napo Wildlife Center was outstanding. The people were so knowledgeable and personable, the lodge and huts were really nice, the food was great, the service was lovely, and the wildlife was beyond description. We can’t say enough about our guide and our wildlife spotter. The only recommendation I’d make is that the glass floor in the suite wasn’t necessary. We were looking down at mud and not much else—perhaps because the water level was low. So I wouldn’t recommend that upgrade, at least in the dry season.
We had Alik arrange our trip to Ecuador. We were in Ecuador from February 8-18, 2020, including four nights spent at the Napo Wildlife Center. GreenGo did a great job. Every detail was tended to. Alik was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns and I would highly recommend GreenGo Travel to anyone considering a trip to Ecuador, which is a wonderful place to visit.

Alik from GreenGo Travel, Quito, ensured the trip ran smoothly with advice on hotels, transfers as well as Napo lodge. Our guide was very knowledgeable, the lodge beautifully appointed and the cuisine awesome. Although it was the “down” season (September), the mild weather was perfect for hiking and the canoe rides were a joy with abundant wildlife. I found a hiking pole useful.

I was traveling to Ecuador with my best friend and having trouble figuring out what lodge to book in the Amazon and how travel works there… there seemed to be so many options and hard to get details to understand how to tackle the best way to see the Amazon. I found Alik from GreenGo and SO HAPPY I did! He helped answer my MANY questions, he helped me figure out what eco lodge fit my needs, he answered every phone call.. honestly he is the reason we ended up at Napo and had the BEST time. He also answered every other quesiton I had about Ecuador and assisted me with many things. I am VERY grateful to have worked w/ Alik!!!
