Extensive & far reaching itineraries, programs usually visit the northwest islands, where long non-stop programs are required. Programs can usually be combined or taken individually with short length programs, these offer popular stops in the south, center, east & northern islands. Activities include the youngest islands in Galapagos with a high incidence of endemic wildlife.
The Crew of the Origin and Theory Galapagos cruises
With a crew of 13 and only 20 guests, you will be getting the ultimate experience in terms of having every one of your needs met. Need a cocktail? Your professional barman will be manning the bar, awaiting your order of a fancy tropical cocktail or quality spirit. While you out having the time of your life on excursions, your room will look brand new and stocked with toiletries upon your return.
However, one of the ultimate highlights is the 20 guest capacity that the Origin and Theory contains. Why is that an advantage? Most ships only have 16 guests. With every 16 guests, a ship must add a new Galapagos naturalist guide. With 20, you will have two onboard, meaning a guide for every ten guests rather than one per sixteen! These guides are professionally trained, with in-depth knowledge of the wildlife and ecosystems of the Galapagos islands. Lastly, enjoy thrice daily incredibly crafted meals made by the professionally trained sous chef. Eat a smorgasbord of international and national cuisine, all ingredients of sustainable and fresh origin. Additionally, enjoy an alfresco barbecue on the upper deck solarium, a meal that guaranteed blow your mind.
Unrivaled Estate Rooms of the Origin and Theory Cruises
There is nothing better than waking up to a fantastic view afforded by the grand estate rooms of the Origin and Theory yachts. With wide panoramic windows in every cabin, enjoy the best views of the Galapagos, a picturesque view every moment you step into your sun-lit room. Sleep on clouds with beds fit with memory foam topping and high-quality linens, and the softest pillows. Set the room temperature to your liking with the air condition controls, so you are never uncomfortable.
Additionally, every cabin includes a private bathroom running hot water, where the ocean view continues. Each room contains a blow dryer, a safe box for your valuables, and all the toiletries you could need. Every room is convertible, whether you are a couple looking for a king bed, or guests that want twin beds. Moreover, for families, there is the option of three beds in one room, so everyone is all together.
You won’t find these perks on any other yachts of the Galapagos fleet. Within every stateroom on the Origin and Theory yacht, enjoy an Apple TV with a pre-loaded movie selection on a nice flat-screen television. Additionally, every cabin is equipped with a universal docking station for mobile devices, and in-room Espresso machine and tea kettle.
Sophisticated Social Areas of the Origin and Theory Cruises
While many luxury ships have around 113 feet, the origin and theory boast 140 feet. With this size to expand social areas, you will have plenty of places to wander around the ship enjoying the wonderful Galapagos views. The salon has a classic layout with comfortable and fashionable furniture, where your class three naturalist guides will brief you on the following day’s activities.
On the upper deck solarium, soak in the hot waters of a six-seater jacuzzi. This is the perfect spot to relax between excursions and warm up after snorkeling sessions. The large deck, wet bar, and comfortable deck furniture set the perfect environment for mingling with other guests, or catch up on that book you haven’t found the time for. Lastly, if the excursions don’t tire you out enough or you need to get in a nice stretch, get in a few workouts during the week. The origin and theory have the perfect small gym, full of weights and cardio equipment.
Bonus Features of the Origin and Theory Cruises
Enjoy the great discounts and family options available on these twin Galapagos yachts. Children aged 6 to 11 receive a 25% discount, and teens aged 12 to 17 receive a 15% discount off the cruise rate (excluding holiday weeks). On both the Origin & Theory, college-age students get a 10% discount from age 18 to 21. These discounts cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotions.
Travelers with children, teens, and young adults have the option to choose dates with designated family departures, crafted to cater to families with similar-aged children. Family departures are during major school breaks and feature exclusive age-appropriate activities that bring the magic of the Galapagos to a multi-generational audience. For example, teen family departures have a faster pace and are more physically demanding. This includes longer hikes, kayaking, and more snorkeling opportunities. Lastly, travelers with teenagers who book on summer family EPI departures can participate in a cultural exchange with local Galapagueño students through Ecology Project International.
