The Danubio Azul Galapagos Yacht is the newest addition to our line of basic cruises, a spirited cruise showcasing the islands with alternating naturalist and diving itineraries. The Danubio Azul provides guest with just the right amount of comfort, without getting in the way of an intimate and secluded experience of cruising the islands. A 14 passenger capacity yacht with seven cabins featuring bunks, twin & double accommodation, and a matrimonial suite for special occasions. Itineraries take guests through East, Center & Southern islands with Naturalist departures, available in 4, 5 and 8-day tours. Diving departures are available for 8-day tours, heading towards the far northwest including the famous islands of Darwin & Wolf. For a world-class Galapagos experience full of adventure, the Danubio Azul has it all.

At GreenGo Travel, one of our favorite aspects of the Danubio Azul Galapagos yacht was the attention paid to the design of the outdoor lounge areas. This includes two outdoor solariums, with spots for both sun and shade. There is nothing better than lounging in these areas on the cosy furniture while enjoying the 360 panoramic views and feeling the sea breeze. Moreover, the sunsets and the showcasing of the stars is unforgettable, and the Danubio Azul Galapagos cruise made plenty of room for all guests to enjoy the sites. Even the dining area is outside, along with a full bar for guests enjoyment. Within this area is a coffee and tea station available 24/7 for guests, and constantly replenished.

Regarding the Cabins of the Danubio Azul Galapagos yacht, there is everything one needs for the duration of the stay. Each room includes bountiful storage space for belongings, a variety of rooming options from double or twin beds to a matrimonial suite with extra space and furniture. Each cabin is equipped with charging ports for electronics, a reading light, and an ensuite private bathroom with hot showers and toiletries.

What really makes the Danubio Azul Galapagos yacht shine is the welcoming and professional staff along with the excellent itinerary options. This vessel holds a staff of six crew members plus a Galapagos guide. Among them, an expert sous chef who prepares three daily meals and snacks. These are top quality, a mix of international and national cuisine and always delicious. Additionally, the captain, assistants, and barman are all at your service throughout your trip. As for itineraries, the adventure runs from five to eight days for naturalist itineraries and eight days for diving. Naturalist itineraries take guests through the best visitor points of the Galapagos islands, full of pristine beaches, otherwordly wildlife settlements, fascinating historical sites, and renowned snorkel sites. Diving programs are for intermediate to advanced divers with a minimum of 40 dives under their belt and take divers to the world-class dive sites of the Galapagos Islands. With you, a veteran master diver that always has safety as the first priority.

Claire
Did a 5/6 day cruise in April 2017. The boat was fine, we had a good itinerary, the chef was fantastic. However, there were two serious issues. We were offered free use of the snorkel gear on board – there was not enough fins which wasn’t discovered until the first snorkel excursion! No apologies, though they did find us more flippers later, but no snorkels – mine was leaking so i had to breathe like Darth Vadar to expel water every breath on all excursions. Our guide was Victor Rizzo – I cannot recommend going on a boat with him as a guide. His English was not up to scratch, he got easily distracted when he was talking to the group, he didn’t inform anyone about the post office box so no-one knew to buy postcards for it – no-one knew how it worked until we got there – then he got grumpy when we wanted to go through all the postcards to see if we could deliver them, I believe his words/attitude was “whats the point”. His knowledge was so-so, for example a lack of knowledge on the geology, couldn’t tell me if the Galapagos were hot spot of plate boundary volcanoes – didn’t even understand my question. As an aside has been bitten by seals 3 separate times and had a couple of diving accidents which I think shows how careful he is, not a great trait for a guide. The staff were a bit inexperienced – when our small boat first arrived at the Danubio they didn’t even know how to tie her on. First impressions! But they were otherwise quite lovely.
