Overview

Start your morning with a thrilling visit to the Galapagos Volcanoes, including the Sierra Negra, a prominent shield volcano on Isabela Island. It stands at 1,124 meters and is among the most active in the Galapagos, last erupting in October 2005. Tours embark from Puerto Villamil, covering the caldera and fresh lava fields, offering a glimpse into the island's volcanic activity.

Prepare for the Sierra Negra Volcano hike by wearing comfortable shoes and packing essentials like sunscreen, water, and a camera. The journey, approximately a 45-minute drive and a 12 km hike (around 3 hours), features the world’s second-largest crater. Experience the moonlike terrain of Volcan Chico before wrapping up your adventure.

The day concludes with a visit to Tintoreras, a serene bay home to white-tipped reef sharks, marine wildlife, and mangroves.
