Reserva El Chato

Overview

El Chato in summary is a great location to find giant tortoises out in the wild in the midst of green forest in the highlands of Santa Cruz. The reserve consists of 2 areas (La Caseta & Cerro Chato), starting off from Santa Rosa, following the road 1 kilometer ahead of La Caseta lies a pool of water where giant tortoises congregate in rainy seasons, immersing themselves in water & mud. A good location for birdwatching as well.
