Galapaguera Colorado Hill is located 22.4 km further in from Baquerizo Moreno Port, not far from Colorado Hill from where its name derives. Similar to other reproduction centers found in Santa Cruz & Isabela, Galapaguera's main efforts are put into increasing the Giant Tortoises population up to healthy numbers, with habitats & conditions similar to their natural state. They are later introduced back into the wild, an ongoing effort to avoid impact from introduced species threatening their species.
