There are four species of Galapagos mockingbirds. The most commoon is the galapagos mockingbird, a large grey and white songbird endemic to the Galapagos Islands. The species is widespread on the island, inhabiting all of the major islands except for Floreana. This bird shows almost no fear of humans, allowing for wonderful photography opportunities. The other species of mockingbird are single-island endemics.
This Galapagos mockingbird is the only one found on multiple islands in the archipelago, while others are single-island endemics.
