Flightless Cormorant Overview
The flightless cormorant is an endemic species of the Galapagos, restricted to Fernandina and Isabela islands. It is notable for its funny appearance with humorously small wings on such a large body. It is the only cormorant species in the world that has lost its ability to fly, although its wings are useful for hunting for fish. The population is small, roughly around 1000 individuals.
