Eileen Wetherall
This truly was a trip of a lifetime. Visiting the islands on the Eastern Itinerary we saw a big variety of wildlife in our teams, of about 12 to each guide, when we landed and explored. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful and we got lots of opportunity to take pictures, to hike on some of the islands, snorkel and kayak on others. We never saw people from other ships when we were hiking or on the beaches or in the water so it felt very special. Only on the day we visited the Darwin Research Centre on Santa Cruz Island did we see/meet people from off our ship. The food on board was very varied and tasty, the beds comfortable and all the staff very accommodating. It was quite an international gathering of people, mostly couples and a few families as well as some singles on board ship and they were good company. The weather was about perfect which also helped and despite it being the second half of January we saw a couple of albatross as well as many other types of birds which was quite a thrill.
