Conservation projects are part of Yarina´s Lodge core foundation, the lodge is part of an organization with worldwide support by like-minded organizations. Yarina lodge is a project with over 10 years in the making, supporting local communities, protecting the environment and wildlife, all the while providing guests with sustainable programs. Much progress and work development has been implemented with locals, yet the lodge has never lost focus of their commitment to wildlife and nature.
Rescue Center
ARCADIA rescue center is part of the conservation efforts Yarina lodge partakes in. A rescue center where guests will be able to appreciate endangered and other local species in a safe environment, adding to their overall enjoyment of the rainforest discovery
Location & Distance
The Lodge is easily reached with a one-hour canoe ride down Napo river. Guests short on time will appreciate its quick access where they can get started with activities right after lunch. A biological diverse reserve protected by indigenous Quichuas and amazonian locals, all in the upper rainforest.
Flexible Programs
Yarina Lodge offers a significant benefit, diverse and flexible programs that adjust to guest schedules. Most lodges have set departures, at Yarina Lodge activities take place every day of the week. Deep primary rainforest with a week round calendar has proven to be a great alternative for many guests.
Yarina Lodge Itinerary 2018
Breakfast. After breakfast we will take a small canoe to navigate on the Manduro river until reaching the Sapococha Lagoon. We will walk around the lagoon enjoying the sounds of birds, frogs, monkeys, etc. In addition we will learn about different types of aquatic plants. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Socali path, characterized for a variety of different jungle lands. This path is used as an introduction trail to learn about the flora and fauna that is possible to find in different types of forest. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
After breakfast we will visit the Capibara path. An adventure trail with many swamps. In this trail you will see some palm trees that are impossible to see in other places. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, without rubber boots and in comfortable dress, (shorts are recommended) the local guides are going to teach us how to use the blowpipe. After this activity we will take a small canoe to enjoy some piranha fishing. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
Breakfast. We will wear our rubber boots and jungle dress and take a canoe up river while watching birds, butterflies, orchids and amphibians until we reach the trail “Dos ramas”. We will take a short hike to learn about medicinal plants, birds and animals. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will take the Tucan trail. path that is characterized by its ease for birdwatching, in the area we have recorded over 350 species of birds. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
After breakfast we will take the motor boat to go out of the borders of our reserve and visit an indigenous family of the Quichuas del Oriente community. Our guides will talk to you about traditions and costumes of these tribes. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will walk through the “Guatusos trail”. A new opportunity to learn from our guides the utility of some plants, about birds, insects and animals. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
After breakfast, we will go deep inside in the jungle until we reach a small river surrounded by stones, sand, clay and other elements. In this place the guides will show us the techniques and instruments to make protractors baskets heavy objects with the resources of the Amazon.
